Dancestars is a dance company with 3 schools based in Surrey, Middlesex and South West London. It was set up in 2004 by Principal Clare Rowland and is registered with both the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance.
All our teachers are fully qualified in either professional dance or dance education and are CRB checked. We offer RAD Ballet classes, ISTD Tap and Modern Class, Musical Theatre and Street Dance for children from as young as 2 years. All our staff team follow the RAD Code of Conduct for Professional Practice and also the RAD Child Protection Policy for safeguarding.
Dancestars employs training work from both the Royal Academy of Dance syllabi (RAD) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance syllabi (ISTD), along with free work choreographed by each individual teacher. This movement vocabulary encourages and supports the basic physical developmental milestones for children as they grow and mature.
During the sessions, children will learn to move with control and co-ordination, gaining an awareness of how the body moves and works. In addition they will have the chance to develop an understanding of how to express their feelings and emotions through movement to music.
Dancestars has a 100% pass rate for examinations and assessments with the RAD and the ISTD and we offer workshops, summer schools, dance education trips, birthday parties, private tuition and wedding dance choreography.
Our aim is to offer a safe and secure learning environment in which children can enjoy learning to dance at a high standard and have fun at the same time. Our teachers are passionate about dance and with our knowledge and experience we hope to produce ‘outstanding’ dancers of the future.
